Who May Borrow
All FSU faculty, staff, and students may borrow items from the General collection. Affiliates of any State University System (SUS) library or community college may borrow materials with a valid, current ID card from their home college or university. First-time borrowers will need to visit Strozier or Dirac for library staff to verify good standing at their home institution and create a FSU Libraries patron record. See the FSU Libraries borrowing policies for FSU affiliates. For information on special and reciprocal borrowers, alumni, and visiting scholars, see the FSU Libraries Visitor Access Overview.
Where and When Items May Be Returned
Materials may be returned to the Maguire Medical Library from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. College of Medicine students with card-swipe access may return items in the book drop after hours. In addition, items may be returned to any other FSU library for delivery to the Maguire Medical Library.
Interlibrary Loan Service
Florida State University affiliates (faculty; staff; students; and fellows/residents) may request interlibrary loans (ILL) through the Maguire Medical Library.
College of Medicine students, faculty, or staff located outside of Leon County may request print materials (e.g., books) be shipped to a preferred home or office location. Include your shipping address when emailing a request to firstname.lastname@example.org or submitting an ILL form.
Distance borrowers are responsible for return shipment costs. Please ship books directly to the Maguire Medical Library. FSU COM distance borrowers may drop off books to their regional medical campus for return to the Maguire Medical Library.

Student Leave of Absence
The Office of the University Registrar sets students on a leave of absence to LEAV (Leave of Absence), an INACTIVE university status. INACTIVE students are restricted from library privileges such as borrowing materials and remotely accessing electronic resources.
Due to the community-based model of clinical education used by the Florida State University College of Medicine, preference is given to online resources that can be accessed by medical students and clinical faculty located at both the Tallahassee main campus and at the regional campuses. We do not accept print books as donations except in special circumstances. All donation inquiries can be directed to Robyn Rosasco. For more information:
