Medical Librarians Gain Biomedical Informatics Expertise

by Susan Epstein on 2016-10-19T10:29:11-04:00 | 0 Comments

To keep current with emerging areas of biomedical research and practice, medical librarians participate in a variety of professional development training sessions and continuing education courses. In September, Terri Johnson completed a week-long National Library of Medicine biomedical informatics course in Georgia; in March, Robyn Rosasco finished an online/in-person course for librarians on NCBI databases. This past January, Erica Heasley concluded an online PubMed training with an in-person session in Miami, and last fall, Martin Wood and Terri Johnson took the American Medical Informatics Association’s 10x10 virtual survey course on health informatics.
