Residency Preparation: Boot Camp (Required Modules)

About the Boot Camp

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)

CITI Program training allows you to conduct human subjects research, and most COM students completed the Biomedical/Clinical training as part of the Host Defense course.

  • CITI sends renewal reminders to your email address -- check your Junk mail in case the emails go there
  • For the Boot Camp, you need to complete any Refresher Course listed on your Record
  • If your CITI lapses, you will have to START ALL OVER AGAIN instead of only completing a few modules

When you are current on the training for FSU Faculty, Staff and Students – Biomedical/Clinical, MAKE SURE that:

  • your FSU affiliation is currently valid, which will facilitate your transition later to your residency
  • your email in the CITI system is a personal one you plan to keep (not your FSU email address)

Once at your residency, the CITI course(s) you have taken at FSU will be recognized (if your CITI has not lapsed!), but your residency may require additional modules or courses.

If you have not yet been trained through CITI at FSU, complete the Human Subjects Research: Biomedical/Clinical training as per the CITI: COM Registration Instructions link below.

Opioids Online Training

If attending a residency in the state of Florida

OR

If attending a residency out of state

Students are strongly advised to complete the required opioid training for the program/state where you do your residency.

If residency location is unknown

Students may choose any opioid training that provides a certificate of completion that will be sufficient for the course; one such training is the AMA’s 8-hour training course.
