EndNote Online & EndNote for iPads

EndNote Online & EndNote for iPad

EndNote X9 is designed for use across multiple devices and optimized for online collaboration. FSU College of Medicine EndNote users can create an account with EndNote Online and use that account with EndNote for iPad as well as the desktop version of EndNote X9. EndNote for iPad allows users to create and view their EndNote Libraries directly on their iPads. EndNote Online allows users to keep their EndNote Libraries in the cloud, sync their Libraries across their devices, share Libraries with other EndNote Online users, or grant permissions for other EndNote Online users to collaborate on the creation of a shared EndNote Library.

Note that EndNote online users with FSU COM-issued Windows computers will need to install Cite While You Write (CWYW) from the Software Center. See CWYW with EndNote Online for installation instructions.

Please see the video tutorials below on creating an EndNote Online account, or downloading EndNote for iPad.

Attention!
Some of the EndNote Online or EndNote for iPad tutorials may not be updated with EndNote X9 instructions. Updated tutorials will be added as they are made available from EndNote.

Creating an EndNote Online Account

EndNote Online does not require an EndNote X9 account and can be used separately. From the EndNote Sign in page, look for Not a member yet? Click on Register and follow the registration instructions.

If you are having trouble registering for an EndNote online account, try these possible solutions:

  • Do not register with your Facebook or LinkedIn account. Use a FSU or personal instead.
  • Refresh or close/reopen your web browser window or tab. Try registering or logging in again.
  • Clear your browsing cache, data, and history. Try registering or logging in again.
  • Check that your password contains a letter, number, and special character (@#$!&^%).
  • Try registering for a personal account through the Web of Science. Your Web of Science account user name and password can be used with EndNote online.

Once you’ve set up your account, you should see the Getting Started page with your username in the top right corner.
